2024 BIG BOOK SALE

The Big Book Sale will be on August 3, 2024 from 9 am-1 pm in the Courthouse parking lot across from the library. See you there!

2023 Big Book Sale

A HUGE thank you to the Friends of the Library for raising over $16,500 at the 2023 BIG Book Sale! These funds help support the Invermere Library and our programming.

 

BOOK DONATION CENTRE

The Friends of Invermere Library accept book donations at the Book Donation Centre across the street from the Library, next to the Invermere Courthouse.
Please place gently used books in boxes or bags into the Donation Cabinet.
Thank you for supporting our library!
Please note: the Friends do not accept damaged books, text books, Reader’s Digest, or encyclopaedias.

Friends of the Invermere Public Library

The Friends of the Library are a group of volunteers who value the library as a vital component of our community.  Our mission is to improve facilities and services offered by the Invermere Public Library.

The Friends

  • Sponsor fundraising events to support library programs and services
  • Receive donations on the library’s behalf
  • Advocate on behalf of the library
  • Apply for grants to support Library projects

How to become a Friend of the Invermere Library

“The library can never have enough Friends!” There are a few ways to be a Friend — scroll down to see options and pick the one that works best for you.

If you are interested, please contact the library or stop by the library and leave your information with library staff member.  A Friend of the Library will contact you shortly after.

Steering Committee

  • Plan events to support the library and raise funds
  • Attend regular meetings, about 7 per year
  • Manage the business of the organization
  • Purchase a Friends of the Library membership

Volunteer

  • Help with fundraising events
  • Assist with other tasks, as required

Advocate

  • Believe in the value of the library in community, but unable to devote time
  • Encourage and offer assistance or financial aid

Membership Fee

Annual membership fee is $20.00

Annual Friends Fundraisers

  • The BIG Book sale in July or August
  • Pop-up Book Sales at the Invermere Farmer’s Market and a few other markets throughout the year.
