Free Income Tax Filing

The library offers free simple income tax filing as part of the Canadian Government’s Community Volunteer Income Tax Program (CVITP). This program runs from the end of February until April 30th (tax due date) of each year. If you need to file outside of that timeframe, we are still able to file for you.

How it works:

  1. Once you have your tax return forms (T4s and other T-slips), please come to the library to drop them off.
  2. Please be prepared to show library staff a valid piece of Government-Issued Photo ID when you bring in your tax return forms.
  3. There will be a short form to fill out so we have all of the information need.
  4. Our tax volunteer comes and files once a week (during the tax season) and will keep in touch over the phone if any questions arise.
  5. The library will call you once filing is complete for you to come pick up your documents.
